Today I went to the Museum of Vancouver to look at stuffed animals and the history of Vancouver.
Our random pet spider that lives in the bathroom.
Metal crab sculpture out the front of the Museum of Vancouver.
The infamous Jackalope.
A huia all the way from New Zealand.
Polar bear cub wants your soul.
Random skulls.
Kermode bears.
Hedwig.
A raven.
An immature bald eagle, they are quite large and could probably attack you and rip out your eyes if you annoyed them.
An Uber Moose.
A naked stuffed tiger cub. Its fur was eaten by insects.
Hunting Accident by Pascal Bernier.
An extinct passenger pigeon, there used to be millions of them until the Americans killed them all for sport.
Chipmunk going cross country by rail.
One of the taxidermy lions used in the film Night at the Museum.
A child mummy.
A sign from WWII.
During World War 2 the governments of Canada & the USA rounded up all the Japanese and those of Japanese descent and forced them into internment camps. The discrimination continued for decades after the war and it was only in the late 80's that the government apologised to the Japanese people.
Ashes from Hiroshima.
Retro 60's political badges.
Some old roller skates like my mums ones that I learned to skate on.
Today was Remembrance Day here in Canada, so a lot of the flags around the city were at half mast. It is Canada's equivalent to ANZAC Day.
A random Jacko-lantern sitting in the grass outside the museum.
A sculpture that is yet to be uncovered.
One of the towers on Burrard Bridge.
Flashing lamp at the end of the bridge.
Old bricks emerging from the broken road.
The Vancouver 2010 quarters collection, the only one I'm missing hasn't been released yet.
Another series of Olympic quarters, the rest of the series is being released later this year & next year.
Bonus Text: As I was going down to the SkyTrain to come home I got a call from Star Signs & Neons, a sign shop in Surrey and they offered me a job, so I am no longer jobless. I start work tomorrow, yay. :)
